The rain stopped as quickly as it started.
The pavement was still warm. Water hung from the leaves and the air coming through the windows had changed. The heat was still there, but for a little while everything felt lighter.
The sun came back before evening.
After the Storm is a Study of a summer afternoon just after the rain. Wet leaves, warm earth, damp stone and the last heat rising from the ground.
